Infrastruktur-Update von Netzwerkequipment und Endgeräten, technische Ausstattung eines Hörsaals sowie Ankauf einer Wärmebildkamera

In 2026 – just as in the current year – the Academy of Fine Arts will continue to prioritize IT security and the provision of state-of-the-art digital equipment for its studios, laboratories, and lecture halls. This focus aligns with the University-wide Development Plan, the strategic concept of UNIKO / Forum for Digitalization, and the Academy’s own development plan. Especially against the backdrop of multiple crises, a resilient IT infrastructure and forward-looking, digitally supported teaching and research environments are indispensable for maintaining and expanding the high innovative standards of Austrian art universities.

As early as 2025, key upgrades to the digital infrastructure were implemented at the Academy to enhance IT security, with some of the funding coming from the 2024 UIP grant. This application seeks funding for the purchase of modern end-user devices (PC and Mac workstations) to prevent security vulnerabilities caused by outdated operating systems, network components that meet current security standards, state-of-the-art digital lecture hall equipment, and a thermal imaging camera. These investments are part of the Academy’s effort to provide robust, technically innovative basic infrastructure that supports and enables the university’s core mission – art production, teaching, and research at an international level.
