Infrastruktur-Update von Werkstaetten und Laboren sowie Netzwerkequipment

The project of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is focussed on the expansion of IT security. It takes into account the overarching strategy of the Austrian University Conference Forum Digitalisation for a targeted expansion of the basic IT infrastructure, as well as responding to the end of support for Windows 10 (EOS WIN 10). After 14 October 2025, Microsoft will no longer offer software updates for Windows 10 via Windows Update and security fixes, and technical support will be discontinued. The resulting security gaps will be closed through corresponding updates to the Academy's IT landscape. This project will be used to purchase equipment for a computer lab in the Institute of Art Teaching (IKL), for a digital workshop in the Institute of Art and Architecture (IKA) and for the Central IT Service (ZID). This will expand the digital skills of staff and students in art, teaching, research and administration and increasingly enable staff and students to deal with growing digital challenges - especially those associated with artificial intelligence and IT security. At the same time, the high-quality equipment to be purchased for digital teaching and learning can support the Academy's digital landscape in terms of quality, content and didactics and contribute to increasing flexibility and accessibility (blended and hybrid learning) in the core area of teaching.
