Literature on the move

Literature on the Move departs from the assumption that the Austrian literary field is currently being transnationalised, triggered by globalisation processes that have changed the economic conditions within the field. These new conditions have opened up possibilities for immigrant authors who further the transnationalisation of the field thematically and stylistically. Literature on the Move will use a multidimensional model to analyse the complex interactions between globalisation, structural changes within the literary field and thematic and stylistic positioning of individual authors who have immigrated to Austria in more detail. Historical case studies will serve as a contrastive foil to improve our understanding of the specificity of the current situation.
