Contemporary Humanities produce a special kind of knowledge. It is conditional, reflexive and translational and plays an important role in coping with complex questions triggered by global interconnectedness and what has been summarized with the label ‘knowledge society’.
The fellowship-program wants to explore tools for communicating this special knowledge
to various audiences. Four fellows (two academic scholars, two artists including Hannah
Hurtzig as key-fellow), are invited to conjointly research the topic and to develop experimental communicational tools for the Humanities. We want to use the Theater am Petersplatz in Vienna under the artistic direction of Drama-X as a laboratory for this enterprise. We will stage a series of events there and will develop a long-term program to support the dialogue between the Humanities and the Arts.
