Dr. Michael Stampfer has been managing the office of the WWTF since 1 July 2002. A graduate of the Law Faculty of Vienna University, he has acquired many years of experience in Austrian and international research and technology policy. Initially he worked for the Science Ministry before undertaking responsibility for the K plus Competence Centres Programme of Technologie Impulse Gesellschaft (TIG, now FFG). Dr. Stampfer is a member of several international working groups and author of numerous publications.

Mag. Klaus Zinöcker is an economist and has been working for the WWTF since 1 May 2005. Before, he managed the evaluation sector at the Institute for Technology and Regional Policy of Joanneum Research. His focus was on programme design as well as evaluation methods and systems. He carried out evaluation projects for all relevant Austrian ministries as well as within a European framework. In addition to working for the WWTF, Klaus Zinöcker is the managing coordinator of the Platform for Research and Technology Evaluation.

Silvia Benes is responsible for the secretariat side of the WWTF Office. She is a specialist in office management and human resources.

Marita Benkwitz owns a degree in business administration. She has worked as an auditor for BDO Deutsche Warentreuhand Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft AG for almost ten years before she joined the WWTF where she is responsible for project report controlling.

Mag. Daniela Frischer studied journalism and communications, political science and French at the University of Vienna and at Sciences Po in Paris. Already during her studies, she acquired the requisite experience at two PR agencies and during part-time work for WWTF. In April 2006, she joined forces with Klaus Zinöcker to organise the two-day international conference on “New Frontiers in Evaluation” held by the “Platform for Research and Technology Evaluation”. Her brief at the WWTF comprises the EU project named “INNO-DEAL”, and supporting the Office in its ongoing funding activities and PR work.

A graduate of economics and sociology, Mag. Michaela Glanz has been working for the WWTF since the summer of 2005. Before, she gained experience as a scientific staff member for research projects at the Department of Social Studies of Science at the University of Vienna, where she concentrated on issues of university development in a knowledge society. At the WWTF she is responsible for the project “Euro-Coop. Regional Innovation Policy Impact Assessment and Benchmarking Process“ and also assists the Office in its ongoing funding activities.

Dr. Michael Hofer received a PhD in applied mathematics from the Vienna University of Technology in 2005. As pre- and post-doc he performed curiosity-driven research also at the University of California in Davis and the University of Minnesota. He is co-author of 25 peer-reviewed publications and of Architectural Geometry, a university textbook published in 2007. Michael Hofer lectures at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology. Since 2008 he works as a programme manager at the Vienna Science and Technology Fund., a university textbook published in 2007.
